My Sons

"I love the boys who hold the Aaronic Priesthood. Every young man who does so, walking in obedience to the commandments of the Lord, may expect to have the guidance of the Holy Spirit in his life. That Spirit will bless him in his studies and other pursuits and will lead him in efforts that will bless him and bless the lives of others all about him." ~President Gordon B. Hinckley

My sons, keep the Spirit with you.  It is the one thing from Heavenly Father that will never ever fail to guide you in the right direction.  Keep this saying in your minds:  "S(piritually) M(inded) I(s) L(ife) E(ternal)."  (SMILE.)

My sons, fulfill your duties in the priesthood.  Do it with a willing heart and a willing mind and an  enthusiastic attitude.  Smile as you do it.

My sons, love your sisters.  They need a brother who will be the example to them for how their husbands should treat them.  They need a priesthood holder to show them what to expect.  Even before their brother holds the priesthood, they need a brother who will show them how young men should act around them as daughters of Heavenly Father.  Please; show that to your sisters.

My sons, know that I love you.  I love you ever so much.  Never forget it.

The Battle

Let it go
Take it away
What do I do?
Throw it away?

I want to help
But I can’t
I have to let go
I can’t stand by and rant

I can’t tell them
What I would do
I can’t tell them
What to do

Let the drama slip right past
Or my head will end up in a cast

My mind is foggy
I don’t know what happened
I don’t know what happened to me
I don’t know what happened to them

I don’t know
Just don’t know
I don’t know
Just don’t know what to do

I need help
I need help to do this
But I can’t get it
Can’t get it from anywhere

I can’t get help
Not from mom or dad
The advice I’ve gotten
Doesn’t do good or bad

Save me
Save me from the darkness
Save me from the pain
The embarrassment
The anguish
The sadness

(Chorus)
My heart is breaking
My face is drooping
My eyes are sobbing
My back is stooping
I pray
I ask
It’s too much
I have to let go

I wrote that poem.  I hope you never feel like this.  I hope you don't feel powerless or worthless in a drama battle like the one I'm going through.

There's a song that a friend of mine wrote.  Here's the link to it:

Find The Final Stand and press the play button if you can.  It might be too old or something by the time you read this.  But here are the lyrics:

Do you ever feel your life is breaking?
The sea is crumbling and the earth is shaking.
This is the future of the world that you're shaping.
Life has reached the ending!

Fall to your knees as the battle rages.
The seas are churning as we pass their stages.
Sometimes you've got to break the cages.
The time we've been dreading!

A giant army a thousand miles wide.
A few defenders here to stop their roaring tide.
You close your eyes as you feel the end inside,
Please let this end quickly!

A raining fire over every nation.
A few survivors with some meager weapons.
The population is in preparation
To kill you off quickly!

So let us stand up
And embrace the facts.
We come to fight them back to back.
So let us rise up.
Come on, take my hand,
As we embrace each other
In the final stand.

Sometimes when you are the last one standing
And all your friends and allies are fallen,
When the enemies start to close in,
Do you feel like running?

When the clouds hail demons come from death
And you're the only fighter that's left,
When they grin malicious through the broken cleft,
Do you feel like screaming?

It's not hopeless I am here beside you.
Joined together we can end our futile youth.
Charging out into the sea of blackened sooths,
I will be here fighting!

Cities fallen and a nation crumbled,
It's here we fight in the deadened rubble.
Get on your feet come and face the trouble.
Stay here, keep on trying!

So let us stand up
And embrace the facts.
We come to fight them back to back.
So let us rise up.
Come on, take my hand,
As we embrace each other
In the final stand.

In a time full of sorrow and fear,
When the shadows grin from ear to ear,
All the people have vanished, disappeared.
This is our time!

Grasp your weapon, turn toward the masses.
They are waiting, making things chaotic.
Forget your troubles, because you are the last.
Tell the planet goodbye!

So let us stand up
And embrace the facts.
We come to fight them back to back.
So let us rise up.
Come on, take my hand,
As we embrace each other
In the final stand.
